SPINELESS POTUS

Last week Trump decided he was not going to attend the Whitehouse Correspondent’s Dinner. What possible reason could he have for ditching this annual affair? Could it be that our Spineless in Chief was afraid of the backlash he might receive from the media?

Trump has continually singled out the Media as producing fake news and being the enemy of the people. My take on this is simply fear; our so called leader did not have the guts to face up to the accusations and his shutting out of certain news media from his news briefings. His only ally seems to be FOX News who themselves have been outed for producing so much fake news. If all the news reported is fake and the leaks out of the Whitehouse are real it leaves us with a paradox that Trump can’t or won’t explain. To resolve the matter, Trump would have to admit he is a liar and the purveyor of false news himself; his paranoia won’t allow that blow to his rampant ego.
Sen. McCain put a stamp on it in a recent interview, “Dictators get started by repressing a free press.”
I’ll be watching Trump’s address to Congress tonight and I will be counting the lies and misdirection that tumble from his lips.
That’s my opinion and you’re stuck with it.

Spy vs Spy

Isn’t it interesting that the Intelligence Agencies should be holding back sensitive info from Trump. He repeatedly claimed the agencies knew less than he did all during the campaign then less than 24 hours after the inauguration he met with the CIA to smooth things over. He called the Media the most dishonest human beings on the Earth. He should look in the mirror when he says that.
Trump plans to have a billionaire ally, Stephen A. Feinberg investigate the U.S. Spy Agencies.
Trump loved the leak of Hillary’s e-mails but now calls the leak of info a criminal act. How’s that for a rapid about face; the shoe is on the other foot now and he can’t stand it. He intends to find the; “Low-Life Leakers” as he calls them.
That's my opinion and you're stuck with it.

EPA

If Trump has his way the EPA will not have the power to inform any of us or protect the entire country.
The Whitehouse website was wiped clear of any mention of global warming or greenhouse effects and their consequences as soon as he took the oath of office. There has also been a gag order placed on anyone working in the EPA; no interviews, no questions answered, no leaks to the media. All inquiries have to be passed along to higher ups who likely will not give anything other than a lot of doublespeak that amounts to nothing.
In the weeks preceding the inauguration, scientists scrambled to download all data on the environment before it was lost forever. If the EPA is eviscerated as Trump plans there will be no watchdog to protect the wealth of beautiful vistas to be enjoyed in our country.
The consequences could be innumerable. Without EPA intervention there is nothing to prevent the American Greed from despoiling our country. The Dakota pipeline was halted for a time because it would ruin the landscape and be a danger if it ever leaked. Trump still owns stock in the pipeline so you know where his interest lies.
Then what of the danger to our parks? Industry will be allowed to despoil the landscape with near impunity. And what of the wildlife; some of which are  already endangered? How will they survive if their habitat is lost? Choose a favorite National Park; now imagine some speculator wants to raise oil derricks across the landscape and you are helpless to stop it? Oil is king in this country; it kills anything living near the fields. Speculators do not see the beauty of green fields and the tiny critters that abide there, they just see greenbacks. Industry will be able to foul up our environment with impunity faster than they ever have in the past. There will be even less regard for the people that live in the area. Hydraulic mining was outlawed in many areas because it destroyed the beauty of the land and sent tons of mud into local creeks and rivers killing of fish, frogs and small denizens and the larger animals that fed on them.
I’m reminded of the old Mad Max movies and how the landscape looked; are we headed down that same road? It will happen if we don’t put our foot down hard.
That’s my opinion and you’re stuck with it.

0 for 1

According to Reuters, U.S. military officials said, with little or no intel, Trump sent Navy Seals into Yemen and everything that could go wrong did.

In the end three al Qaeda leaders were dead and also Chief Petty Officer, William “Ryan” Owen of Seal Team 6. An 8 year old girl born in the U.S. whose father was an al Qaeda leader was also killed. There were allegations that several civilians were killed in the melee.
The seal team found themselves dropping into a reinforced al Qaeda base defended by landmines, snipers and a larger than expected contingent of heavily armed Islamist extremists.

Is this how Trump plans to use our greatest assets in the military by blindly sending them into harms way without a proper recon mission. Will he learn from his mistakes? Trump’s ego tells him he is perfect and he does not need intelligence briefings because he knows more than the CIA and his Generals, so it’s doubtful. He’ll shift the blame to someone else rather than commit the unpardonable sin of admitting he was wrong. He’s too busy alienating our allies.

That’s my opinion and you’re stuck with it.

INAGURATION

That would have been an impressive speech if it hadn’t been such a roaring load of shit. Harsh? Yes but it’s ringing so true.

He gave the faithful exactly what they wanted to hear but will he come through with the promise? He told us what we already knew; that the GOP was getting rich on our misery and was doing nothing to earn our votes. He vowed it all would change and he was giving the control back to us. Who did he mean by us? Certainly not where you would think. My bet is he meant to the wealthy fat-cats of Wall Street. Already he is trying to lift restrictions on what Wall Street can and cannot do; to make it easier to take the money out of the hard working classes and put it in their own coffers.

He promised a wall between the U.S. and Mexico but that seems to be getting a lot of push back from the area involved. Germany built a wall to keep the East Berliners in and it failed and was torn down. China built a Great Wall but it failed to keep the Mongol hoard out. And why erect such a wall that some future president will have torn down? Better he should invest the money to have our own failing infrastructure improved before it leads to more fatalities than it already has. Whose going to rebuild our failing roads, bridges and tunnels? Will Exxon and other big oil companies foot the bill; don’t count on it? Who will begin the improvement and upgrade of our antiquated rail system; certainly not Amtrak? The cost of such improvements will land squarely on the backs where it always has been; it will be up to those who can least afford it; the working class.

Trump is a liar and he hides behind his press secretary to lie for him and create his own version of what history is. If he had any modicum of ethics he’d quit the job and try his hand at writing something rewarding.

That’s my opinion and you’re stuck with it.
